Case Study

Crafted With Care,
Online Too.

Eden Memorials are a family-run memorial mason in South Shields, making headstones and memorials for families across the North East since 2010. We explored new brand routes with them, prepared their tree mark as a full logo pack, and built a quiet, easy-to-read website they can update themselves.

  • WHO — Eden Memorials, family memorial masons in South Shields
  • WHAT — Brand Concepts, Logo Pack, Brand Assets, Social Templates, Web Design & Build, Content Editor, Analytics, Hosting

The Brief

A Hard Moment,
Handled Gently.

People visit a memorial mason’s website soon after losing someone. Eden wanted a site that felt calm and respectful, showed their real work, and made it easy to ask a question or book a home visit. Many of their customers are older, so the text had to be big and the steps clear.

  • Family business, established in South Shields in 2010
  • Showroom and workshop on Maxwell Street
  • An older audience who need large, clear text
The Brief
Brand Concepts
Brand Concepts

Five Routes
to Choose From.

We started with the brand. We built five full identity concepts as web pages Eden could click through: Serenity, Heritage, Evergreen, Canopy and Origin. Each had its own logo, colours, fonts, tone of voice and sample stationery, so Lisa and Shaun could judge a real direction, not a sketch on a page.

  • Five complete concepts, each with logo, palette and type
  • Tone of voice and photography guidance for each
  • Business card and letterhead mock-ups
The Choice

Keep the Tree,
Make It Work Harder.

In the end Eden chose Origin: their own tree-of-life mark, the one customers already knew. So we set it in a soft sage, paired it with a clean Poppins wordmark in lower case, and built a palette of sage, charcoal and warm parchment around it. It looks at home on a granite headstone and on a phone screen.

  • Original tree mark kept and refined
  • Sage, deep sage, light sage, charcoal and parchment
  • Poppins for the wordmark and all text

Logo Pack
Logo Pack

Every File
a Printer Asks For.

Sign-makers and printers always ask for “a vector file”. We made a full logo pack: the mark in six colours as SVG, PDF and PNG, light and reversed lockups, round profile pictures for social media, a Facebook cover and a printer spec sheet. It all sits on a brand assets page on Eden’s own site, with a plain-English guide to which file to use where.

  • SVG, PDF and PNG in six colour versions
  • Standard and reversed lockups with the wordmark
  • Profile circles and a Facebook cover
  • Printer pack and a download-everything zip
The Website

Big Type,
Quiet Design.

The site uses the parchment and sage palette, large Poppins text and plenty of space. After walking Lisa and Shaun through it in June 2026, we acted on their notes: no text smaller than 19px, a shorter hero, the home and about pages merged into one, and text set beside the photos rather than under them. Every page ends with the same two choices: speak with the team or browse memorials.

  • Minimum 19px text for older readers
  • Home and about merged, with Shaun’s own words
  • Text and photos side by side down the page
  • Same two calls to action at the end of every page

Real Work
Real Work

Their Memorials,
Not Stock Photos.

Each memorial range has its own page: lawn memorials, kerb sets, lawn kerb sets, children’s memorials, vases and tablets, and custom designs. Every page shows headstones Eden have made and fitted, sent to us by Lisa. Lettering styles, designs and services such as renovations, extra inscriptions and cremation plots have pages too.

  • Six memorial range pages with Eden’s own photos
  • Lettering, designs and monumental additions
  • Service pages from renovations to grave coverings
  • A gallery of recent work
Easy Contact

Call, WhatsApp
or Ask for a Quote.

Some families want to talk, some would rather message. On a phone, a bar along the bottom of every page offers Call, WhatsApp and Quote. The contact page puts the address, landline, mobile and opening hours at the top, with an option to book a home visit. Behind the form, quiet spam protection keeps junk out of Lisa’s inbox, and replies go straight back to the customer.

  • Call, WhatsApp and Quote bar on mobile
  • Home visits offered on the contact page
  • Spam filtering without a CAPTCHA
  • Pages for each area served, from Sunderland to Northumberland

Update It
Themselves.

The memorial range brochure lives on the site as a page families can read, print or save as a PDF. And Eden don’t need to email us to change a word. We built a simple editor into the site, so the Eden team can change text, swap photos and add new memorials to the galleries themselves. Google Analytics and a live Google reviews feed are set up too.

  • Brochure page with print and save to PDF
  • Built-in editor for text and photos
  • Add new memorial photos to each range
  • Google Analytics 4 and a Google reviews widget
